Overview
We’ve heard from many of you: navigating the user portal in a foreign language is challenging, and users need a better way to track their print jobs. The time-consuming back-and-forth between users and admins to confirm a print job went through is a productivity drain for everyone.
That’s why we’ve launched the User Portal Update, a powerful new feature that brings localization and a completed jobs log to PaperCut Hive. This update empowers users to manage their printing independently and makes the portal truly accessible to a global audience. No more language barriers, no more hunting for lost jobs—just a clear, intuitive, and transparent user experience.
Feature highlights at a glance
-
Localization: Adds local language support to the user portal, making Hive more accessible and inclusive for non-English-speaking users.
-
Completed Jobs Log: Provides a clear view of a user’s completed print history, allowing them to track jobs and confirm successful printing.
Explore the user experience
The update brings a consistent experience to the user portal, regardless of language. Simply choose your preferred language from the settings, and the entire interface will update. Additionally, a new “Completed Jobs” tab gives users a historical record of their print activity, empowering them with a single source of truth.
Real-world scenarios: where it makes a difference
- Global Organizations: A multi-national company with offices in Europe can now offer a fully translated user portal, reducing confusion and increasing adoption across different regions.
- Education: Students and faculty from diverse linguistic backgrounds can easily navigate the portal in their native language to release print jobs and check their history.
- Customer Support: IT admins receive fewer support requests from users asking, “Where is my print job?” as users can now confirm its completion status themselves.

- If the admin has not changed the organization language (default: English), but your browser is set to another language, the User Portal will load in your browser’s detected language.
- If User wants to change the language, go to user profile in right upper corner -> Select ‘Language’ option -> Select preferred language from the list of languages.

No configuration is required for Completed Jobs view:
- Go to User portal and Login -> go to ‘Completed jobs’ tab
At the user’s organization, the sysadmin has elected to warn users when their balance is low. As such, the user is now notified that they only have a $1 balance, and this will only allow them to copy 1 black and white page, and no color pages (according to this printer’s costs per page in its assigned cost profile):
