How to enable Debug Logging

THE PAGE APPLIES TO:

Last updated September 30, 2025

PaperCut NG/MF has special debug options that create more detailed log files. These logs help our developers see what’s happening inside the software and find the root cause of issues. You only need to enable debug logging if asked by PaperCut Partners or the PaperCut Support Team .

If you’re unsure where to get help as a PaperCut MF customer, reach out to your PaperCut Authorized Partner. Learn more about the PaperCut ecosystem .

PaperCut NG/MF Component Logs

Plan on including the PaperCut Application Server debug logs whenever raising a support request. Depending on the situation your PaperCut support technician may request additional logs.

Operating System Logs

When troubleshooting an issue that involves the print system, we might ask you to collect these logs when reproducing the issue.

Multifunction Device Logs

When troubleshooting an issue with a specific brand of embedded device, it’s a good idea to collect these logs when reproducing the issue.*

*For support on Epson, OKI (sXP2 devices), RISO, and Sindoh embedded devices, please contact the manufacturer directly. These devices are certified by third parties, not made by PaperCut.
